"The old story in the south" is the autobiographical sketch of the famous female writer Lin haiyin, and it can be regarded as her representative work in a long novel set in the background of her life from seven to thirteen years old. In the 1920s, it described a courtyard house in the south of Beijing that housed a warm and happy family. It reveals the joys and sorrows of the adult world through the eyes of the hero and child, and there is a kind of naive innocence, but the world is full of complex emotions.
See "city", my heart overflow up a little bit of warmth, because have seldom see such delicate things, because she doesnt express what painstakingly, only one scene scene to describe a leisurely old Beijing, in the eyes of a child is like living in said it yourself. It was so unobtrusive, so warm and so pure, so pure and indifferent, that it was so full of human fireworks, that there was no pursuit of fame.

The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring in language of great simplicity and power,it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman,down on his luck,and his supreme ordeal——a relentless,agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream.
Here Hemingway recasts,in strikingly contemporary style,the classic thene of courage in the face of defeat,of personal triumph won from ten in 1952,this hugely successfully novella confirmed his power and presence in the literary world and played a huge part in his winning the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. The novel is very famous in the world, so lot of people like this novel.
We also studied it in our Chinese class, Hemingways novel are always interesting I like his novel much, also in his novel we can learn a lot by his meanings. It’s really a good novel for people to read.

Coyotes never eat their prey alone, but always share it with each wolf in the family. They will bear the support of their pups and old wolves, and they have an indelible sense of responsibility for the family.
The calmness of the Mongols is taught by wolves. No matter how critical the coyote is, it can calmly “deploy troops” to get out of the siege. The role of the first wolf is even more important. The calmness of an old wolf is enough to save the whole pack. The Mongols’ idea of “rather die than surrender” was taught by wolves. Coyotes can’t be tamed. Freedom is their lifelong pursuit and belief. They would rather die in the endless grassland than spend their life under the iron chain. The Mongols are the disciples of wolves, and wolves are the spiritual totems of Mongols. In the minds of the Mongolians, wolves, grass, human beings and livestock are a whole. Wolves eat yellow sheep and hamsters to protect the grassland from damage.
Only in this way can they survive on the grassland. Livestock eat grass, while wolves eat livestock. In order to control the number of wolves, human beings have to kill them. This is the iron law of grassland handed down by nature through the ages. But it all changed when man began to want to conquer nature. Hunters kill a large number of wolves, gradually, the wolf disappeared in the grassland. People raise cattle and sheep wantonly and turn grassland into wheat field and vegetable garden After reading “Wolf Totem”, my heart is very heavy!

Yesterday I read a book the name of the book is《Dr Bethune》.
Dr bethune was a famous doctor from canada.In 1938 he came to china.At that time china was at war with japan.He worked as a doctor in the chinese army and saved many soldiers’ lives.He worked very hard and became sick.Dr bethune died in 1939.He was only 49 years old. he was a good man and we remember him today.
I think the book is very very good!
These days I am busy preparing my dissertation which is about web usage mining.I read some English papers and learnt much from them.And now I want to say something about a paper titled “web usage mining：discovery and applications of usage patterns from web data”.
This is the first english paper I read about dissertation and gave me great help.
This paper is a review about web usage mining.It introduced web usage mining in detail.Although it is a little old for it was published in xx its contents are very useful today.It is organized according to the sequence of web usage mining and the six main parts are introduction which tells me what is web usage mining the sources and abstraction of web data the three steps of web usage mining taxonomy and project survey websift overview privacy issues.The third and fourth parts are most important.It had a list of existing project about web usage mining which I saw many times in other papers but this paper is the one creating this list.Besides it has been referred for more then twenty times.As we all know that the higher the referred number is the more important the paper is so i consider this paper to be an important and successful one in this region.
In my opinion the success of this paper dues to three reasons.The first reason is the profound computer knowledge owned by the authors.Web usage mining relates to many subjects such as artificial intelligence ontology semantic analysis but the most basic knowledge is computer science.The four authors are all professors of department of computer science and engineering in university of minnesota . for myself i am not major in computer science and i am not very good at computers so i feel a little difficult to understand technologies used in this region.
Second they had read a large number of papers before they wrote this paper.There are fifty nine references listed after main contents.“stand on the shoulders of giants” this sentence tell us a truth: one can never successful all by oneself.And what’s more learn from others can save a lot of time and energy especially for us new learner.How to learn from others is a skill all of us should master but learning doesn’t mean copy or plagiary.Other people’s knowledge and production is just our foundation upon this foundation we must have our own thoughts and creation. there are many remarks in this paper where referred other’s production.
Third the authors had the experience of developing a web usage mining project.They don’t just engage in idle theorizing so their comprehension on this issue is greatly profound. they know what we may meet in a real project development and they know how to resolve them.After reading this paper i also read some other papers written in chinese . some of them are not based on real project and can not give useful resolution. websift is the name of system they developed which can be used to data mining and analysis .
I wrote this article not only because it gave me much help in preparing my dissertation but also because it tells me how to study and how to do research . honesty and preciseness are two essential making a researcher must have.Hard-working is the necessary condition leading to success.This is just the beginning of my dissertation I should learn from these four authors both their knowledge and their attitude to study.

Among the books I read, the journey of bitter children is one of my favorite books. At first, I didn’t like reading it very much, but I was fascinated by the strange and fascinating plot in the book and read it in a breath. The story tells the story that the hero of the story, rami, lives in babenhan’s mother’s home, and her mother is very good to him.
When Remi was eight, his father was unable to work because of his injury and came back from Paris. Rami learned from his father that he was a foster son, and rami was sad. Because there was no money in the family, the foster father rented him to vagrant artist Vidali, and started his wandering career with the group. Soon the master was in prison, and he had to spend hard with four animals. During this period, he met his mother and younger brother, but he did not know. After leaving her mother, three animals were suffering from misfortune and the owner lost their lives. After Remi was taken in by a gardener, the gardener family suffered another disaster, and he had to go on a journey. He survived the mine and then came to his fake parents I admire Remi’s spirit and courage to be afraid of setbacks. After reading this book, I finally understood the meaning of the saying “how to see rainbow without rain and rain”.
I’m ashamed to think about Remi and think about myself. Sometimes I have a problem doing my homework, so I ask my sister if I don’t think much. After the elder sister explained, I found the problem very simple. I’m far from Remi. After that, I must learn Remy!

In the summer vacation, I read a book which is called “The Christmas Carol”。 It is written by Charles Dickens, a famous English writer.
The story is about Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser. Scrooge always said about Christmas, “Bah，humbug”。 He also didn’t like spending money and giving money away even more. Marley used to be the partners with Scrooge. Unfortunately, he died 7 years ago. One day, Maley’s ghost came to his home and told Scrooge three Christmas ghost would come to his home. Firstly, Ghost of Christmas Past came. He showed Scrooge how he became a miser from a happy boy. Then, Ghost of Christmas Present came. He showed his employee and his nephew’s happy lives. Finally, Ghost of Christmas Future came. He took Scrooge to his grave in his future and showed him his lonely death is the result of his mean and miserly life. In the next morning, Scrooge understood. He changed his living way and became generous. He donated money to the charity organization.
I think it is a good story. It tells us to be generous and help other people more. To be miserly and mean only do harm to other people and ourselves. Helping others is a very good virtue. It makes you feel good, make others feel warm and make others remember you. As so many advantages, why you don’t do this?
