听所读写四大技能并不是各自孤立的，也是相互作用和相互制约的。如果平时，只注重某一项技能的学习和训练，那是不可能成为一位真正的英语强手的。

任何一门学科都需要踏实的学习作风。外语也不例外。学外语的实主要表现在以下几个方面：

一、落实词汇、词汇知识和特殊句式的积累。落实词汇和词汇知识并不是反复背记词汇表中的单词。落实词汇、词汇知识以及特殊句式的最好办法是先探究后运用。一个词汇在经过七到八次在不同时间和不同的语境中运用后，它就是你的了。词汇知识和特殊句式也是一样。写作是运用，造句是运用，阅读，倾听和与他人用英语交流也是运用。借助词典进行造句练习，在造句中运用新学的词汇不失为一种行之有效的简单易行的方式。

二、落实课外阅读。每天坚持花半小时阅读一两篇短文。一要真正读懂。二要留意词汇运用。

三、落实早自习精读。每次有硬指标，死任务。

四、落实课内课外书面作业。简单的完成老师布置的作业量并不是落实。书面作业质的落实必须是在真正懂了、记住了的基础上又快又好的独立的、闭卷式的完成书面作业。对发现的漏洞和缺陷要采取补救措施。

五、落实自主探究的学习能力培养。学习中缺乏自主探究，不善于利用团队合作和与老师沟通是很多高中生在学习中存在的一种普遍想象。老师不是保姆，老师不可能把英语的词汇知识和英语的四大能力烹制成一道道佳肴后，一口一口地喂进学生的口中。老师的探究代替不了学生的探究。学习能力的培养主要是探究能力的培养。学会了探究，你才会在知识的大海中畅游。学会了探究，你才会成为终身学习者。英语学科的探究应该表现在对某一特定词汇在文中、在句中的用法和含义的探究，对长难句结构和含义的探究，对相关知识关联的探究，对作者意图、主题大意的探究，当然也包含对学法的探究。要探究知识，要有工具（词典以及各种手册等）的帮助，更要有团队的合作，还要有老师的帮助。团队合作可以让你取他人之长补自己之短，还可以集思广益，产生思想火花。常与老师沟通是可以使你更容易发现前进的方向，少走弯路。

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we the people have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebears, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; s shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.

For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.

For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.

Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new s, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.

Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.

What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find s at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. Those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control — and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.

As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers ... our found fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all the other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Confronted with the rising of house price, they will have to spend almost their whole life to earn a house.

Confronted with the pressure of raising family, they strive on their post day and night. When they go back home, tired with fatigue, they have no energy at all to think more about their original dreams.

It takes young people their whole life to fight with the reality. Meanwhile, their original dream fades out as well. Even if they have the passion, it still would be worn down by the pressure from the reality.

Living such a fail-fail life, how could one possibly get the real happiness?

How should we do then?

The dream road and the reality road diverge at the very beginning, and as the two roads extend to the distance, they would become even farther apart from each other.

Thus we need to make our choice at the very beginning: to dream, or to struggle with the reality.

I would say to young people that, it’s time for us to discard the pressure from the reality and follow our dream. It’s time for is to unburden our load and go to our Walden Ponds. It’s time for us to undertake the career that we have been dreaming of.

The housing price is high. So what? We could still choose Dwelling Narrowness.

College entrance exams are cruel. So what? If it really unfits you, then skip it and establish your own business.

Without your support our struggle would not have reached this advanced stage. The sacrifice of the frontline states will be remembered by South Africans , black and white, recognize that apartheid has no future. The mass campaigns of defiance and other actions of our organizations and people can onlyculminate in the establishment of continent is in calculable. The fabric of family life of millions of my people has been shattered. Millions are homeless and unemployed. Our economy — Our economy lies in ruins and our people are embroiled in political strife. Our resort to the armed struggle in 1960 with the formation of the military wing of the ANC, Umkhonto we Sizwe, was a purely defensive action against the violence of apartheid. The factors which necessitated the armed struggle still exist today. We have no option but to continue. We express the hope that a climate conducive to a negotiated settlement will be created soon so that there may no longer be the need for the armed , strategies, and , I feel duty?bound to make the point that a leader of the movement is a person who has been democratically elected at a national conference.

This is a principle which must be upheld without any , I wish to report to you that my talks with the government have been aimed at normalizing the political situation in the country. We have not as yet begun discussing the basic demands of the struggle. I wish to stress that I myself have at no time entered into negotiations about the future of our country except to insist on a meeting between the ANC and the has gone further than any other Nationalist President in taking real steps to normalize the situation. However, there are further steps, as outlined in the Harare Declaration, that have to be met before negotiations on the basic demands of our people can begin.

Negotiations cannot take place — Negotiations cannot take place above the heads or behind the backs of our people. It is our belief that the future of our country can only be determined by a body which is democratically elected on a non?racial basis. Negotiations on the dismantling of apartheid will have to address the overwhelming demands of our people for a democratic, non?racial and unitary South Africa. And this reality is that we are still suffering under the policies of the Nationalist , so that the process towards democracy is rapid and uninterrupted. We have waited too long for our freedom. We can no longer wait.

Now is the time to intensify the struggle on all fronts. To relax our efforts now would be a mistake which generations to come will not be able to role in a united democratic and non?racial South Africa is the only way to peace and racial harmony. In conclusion, I wish to quote my own words during my trial in 1xxx. They are as true today as they were then. I spoke: I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and — and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

英语短文阅读的重要性不仅表现在高中英语考试中它的份量最大，而且还表现在英语短文是英语词汇知识和语法知识的载体方面。词汇量的扩大、词汇知识的丰富和句子表达的多样性光靠死记硬背是无法也不可能实现的。扩大词汇量、丰富自己的词汇知识和地道完美的表达自己只有依靠优良的阅读习惯。教材课文是精读材料，需要同学们读熟读透，直至能开口娓娓道来为止。课外阅读又叫泛读。高中英语新课标教材对高中前八个模块的学习有一个要求：课外阅读要完成30万单词的阅读量。也就是说：同学们需要每天有500到700个单词量的阅读。课外阅读也是运用语言的一种必不可少的形式。课外阅读不能停留在完成几道阅读理解试题或者完形填空试题。关键在尽量弄懂文章中的每一句话含义、长难句的结构。留意你还不很熟悉的词汇、词汇知识和语法知识。还要去认真体会不同的英语句子在表达上的精确性。千万不要在一些你还不认识的，拼写怪诞，发音困难的生僻词汇上浪费时间和精力。

阅读能力，除词汇量大小以外，还包含阅读速度、长难句理解、和把握主题大意的能力。要会快速阅读，同学们必须学会一些阅读的技能：如：skimming(跳读)、scanning(扫读)和digesting(研读)。Skimming和scanning就是根据阅读任务在文中查找相关信息。Digesting主要是用来理解长难句、把握主题大意和作者意图以及猜测词义的技术。不仅要研读长难句结构，也还需要研读逻辑关系。

流畅的'短文表达能力在很大程度上依赖于你的词汇量、词汇知识和句法知识。它们的积累在于平时的听、说和读的活动。写作表达能力中，你的英语句式的结构思维能力或者英语习惯思维能力会对表达能力有重要影响。这就需要同学们平时养成一个良好习惯：那就是总是试图用英语来表达出你眼睛所看到的，耳朵能听到的，身体能感受到的和你思想能想到的。除此之外，一篇优秀的短文还少不了三个要素：即结构，内容和语言。

一片结构完美的英文短文，尤其是说明文和议论文，往往有一个比较完优美的，诱人深入阅读的开头语。主题句是可从开头语中自然而然过度而来。你所程述的观点，一般都要用事实做论证，或者用具体方式方法来支持。巧妙的结论句往往能使文章锦上添花。

内容需要真实，合乎情理，能让人信服。文中不要有与主题无关的内容。

语言要尽可能是地道的，去汉语化的英语。要经常套用自己在阅读中、在课堂上学来句子结构去表达自己。要敢于尝试用比较复杂的句子结构和比较高级的词汇来使文章进一步美化。

听所读写四大技能并不是各自孤立的，也是相互作用和相互制约的。如果平时，只注重某一项技能的学习和训练，那是不可能成为一位真正的英语强手的。

任何一门学科都需要踏实的学习作风。外语也不例外。学外语的实主要表现在以下几个方面：

一、落实词汇、词汇知识和特殊句式的积累。落实词汇和词汇知识并不是反复背记词汇表中的单词。落实词汇、词汇知识以及特殊句式的最好办法是先探究后运用。一个词汇在经过七到八次在不同时间和不同的语境中运用后，它就是你的了。词汇知识和特殊句式也是一样。写作是运用，造句是运用，阅读，倾听和与他人用英语交流也是运用。借助词典进行造句练习，在造句中运用新学的词汇不失为一种行之有效的简单易行的方式。

二、落实课外阅读。每天坚持花半小时阅读一两篇短文。一要真正读懂。二要留意词汇运用。

三、落实早自习精读。每次有硬指标，死任务。

四、落实课内课外书面作业。简单的完成老师布置的作业量并不是落实。书面作业质的落实必须是在真正懂了、记住了的基础上又快又好的独立的、闭卷式的完成书面作业。对发现的漏洞和缺陷要采取补救措施。

五、落实自主探究的学习能力培养。学习中缺乏自主探究，不善于利用团队合作和与老师沟通是很多高中生在学习中存在的一种普遍想象。老师不是保姆，老师不可能把英语的词汇知识和英语的四大能力烹制成一道道佳肴后，一口一口地喂进学生的口中。老师的探究代替不了学生的探究。学习能力的培养主要是探究能力的培养。学会了探究，你才会在知识的大海中畅游。学会了探究，你才会成为终身学习者。英语学科的探究应该表现在对某一特定词汇在文中、在句中的用法和含义的探究，对长难句结构和含义的探究，对相关知识关联的探究，对作者意图、主题大意的探究，当然也包含对学法的探究。要探究知识，要有工具（词典以及各种手册等）的帮助，更要有团队的合作，还要有老师的帮助。团队合作可以让你取他人之长补自己之短，还可以集思广益，产生思想火花。常与老师沟通是可以使你更容易发现前进的方向，少走弯路。

Scientists say that 21st century is a biomedical time, not an electrical time. But without the help of electronic data processing and transformation, biomedical technology alone cannot go too far. Funny enough, the word biomedical itself is just a combination of two disciplines. So the interdisciplinary exploitation serves as the critical part for our electric and electronics world as well as any other fields to find new way of being.

But the power of knowledge collaboration is certainly not restricted to science and engineering; it is in the full community of learning. Walking around campus I absorbed a reality that there is a seamless web between students from different professional backgrounds. The engineering students are discussing animatedly in a philosophy lecture, speaking passionately in the public speaking club, and looking for sparkling ideas from learning history and arts. How wonderful that is! That, ladies and gentleman, is just a significant step forward to be well-rounded because once we jump out of the circle we can see the bigger picture.

English is a useful language all over the world. Why are we began to learn English when we were little children? Beacause it is very important for us to learn it.In the world, if you cannot speak English you will lose half a chance to success. I began to learn English when I was 8 years old.At that moment,I do not like English.I connot remember all the words which I have learnt.I think it is very difficult for me to learn it well.So I cannot read English loudly and I never answer the questions in the English classes.

Even if my English is very bad, my teacher stll encourages me to learn English hard and he gives me some ways to learn English. He tells me to read passages loudly and listen to the English tapes everyday morning.In order to progress my writing he also asks me to write some articles at times. I like listen to the English songs,he suggests me to sing the English songs.As a result of his ways my English becomes well.

Now, I like English very well and I still use the ways he tells me.I know I must learn English even hard.
