我从二年级到五年级，都是英语课代表，所以我有决心和经验来承担英语课代表这个职责。虽然我的口语能力还有待提高，但是我会继续努力的！

One day in 1819, 3,000 miles off the coast of Chile, in one of the most remote regions of the Pacific Ocean, 20 American sailors watched their ship flood with seawater.
They'd been struck by a sperm whale, which had ripped a catastrophic hole in the ship's hull. As their ship began to sink beneath the swells, the men huddled together in three small whaleboats.
These men were 10,000 miles from home, more than 1,000 miles from the nearest scrap of land. In their small boats, they carried only rudimentary navigational equipment and limited supplies of food and water.
These were the men of the whaleship Essex, whose story would later inspire parts of “Moby Dick.”
Even in today's world, their situation would be really dire, but think about how much worse it would have been then.
No one on land had any idea that anything had gone wrong. No search party was coming to look for these men. So most of us have never experienced a situation as frightening as the one in which these sailors found themselves, but we all know what it's like to be afraid.
We know how fear feels, but I'm not sure we spend enough time thinking about what our fears mean.
As we grow up, we're often encouraged to think of fear as a weakness, just another childish thing to discard like baby teeth or roller skates.
And I think it's no accident that we think this way. Neuroscientists have actually shown that human beings are hard'wired to be optimists.
So maybe that's why we think of fear, sometimes, as a danger in and of itself. “Don't worry,” we like to say to one another. “Don't panic.” In English, fear is something we conquer. It's something we fight.
It's something we overcome. But what if we looked at fear in a fresh way? What if we thought of fear as an amazing act of the imagination, something that can be as profound and insightful as storytelling itself?

precious is so undereducated that she can not read and write formally.what’s worse, she is usually knocked around by her irascible mother.
worst of all, she is sexually assaulted by her stepfather and has twochildren before the age of seventeen. owing to the situation she gets involved,she has to leave school and is introduced to alternative school.
after waging many struggles and overcoming many difficulties, she finds thegoals of life again with the help of her teacher and classmates.
in the film, precious insists on keeping her children all the time thoughshe gets involved in trouble.

When I was a child, I lived in California, which is, you know, mostly a very nice place to live, but for me as a child, California could also be a little scary.
I remember how frightening it was to see the chandelier that hung above our dining table swing back and forth during every minor earthquake, and I sometimes couldn't sleep at night, terrified that the Big One might strike while we were sleeping.
And what we say about kids who have fears like that is that they have a vivid imagination. But at a certain point, most of us learn to leave these kinds of visions behind and grow up.

我是叶施云，来自502班。我呢，虽然在老师面前是一个有点胆小的女生，但是我和周边同学还是处得不错的。我们经常能互帮互助，不管是男生还是女生。除此之外，我的书法也写得不错，在校内和校外都学了好几年的字，而且考出了六级，今年准备冲刺7级。我觉得，这对于今后的帮助应该是非常大的。
在英语方面，我是很有自信的'，我的每次成绩最少能达到90分以上。另外，我还在外面学了三年多的英语，目前已经升到新概念1—2了。这对于我的视、听、说水平是非常重要的，也大大增加了我的词汇量。每次默写单词，我几乎都能写全对。就在上一次第一单元所有单词默写中，三颗星（最高也是三颗星）呢。在家中，我都会花上25分钟左右的时间来流利地朗读课文。有空时我还会看带有英文的书，爸爸说这能提高我的英语水平。遇到不懂的还可以翻开英文字典查看注释。以上几点，大大地增强了我的语法知识。
对于作业，我都是很及时地上交，回到家后只有朗读课文就行了。有时看到课代表迟迟没有发本子时或组织同学听写单词时，总会一个劲儿地催他。
如果我当上了英语课代表，一定会仔细检查同学上交作业中的错误，让他们及时改正。也会把他们不准确的发音，尽我所能地纠正。同学遇到不理解的阅读题目，我也会在确定答案的情况下，跟他们进行分析。总之，我会配合各项工作，尽到我的职责，并及时地搬发本子，和老师报告上交作业的情况。

there is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life，which the process makes the difference。
life is a box of chocolate，you never know what you will get。 forrest gump made no decision by and for himself but he acplished great success with his strong will in the process。 the process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings，the caution，courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles。
take myself as an example，i changed my major when i became a postgraduate。 after the choice，days have been harsh for me。i cannot understand the new lessons at all。 for they are closely related to mathmatics which i learned nothing about before。
however wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself，i persisted。 i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life。
gradually i could understand some parts and even found maths interesting。moreover，i learned to act instead of plaining。

Firstly, don’t waste any electricity and water. Remember to turn off the lights and water taps unless we use them. Secondly, we had better take the subways or bus to work, so as to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide. Thirdly, we should use cloth bags for shopping instead of plastic bags, and use recyclable bowls and chopsticks instead of disposable ones, for it can not only save resources, but also reduce pollution. 今天我站在这个讲台上，很荣幸，也很激动。通过一个月的`临时当选，我仍希望能继续当选英语课代表这个光荣的职位，我相信我会做得很好。

如果我真的当选了英语课代表，我将竭尽全力，为大家服务，想方设法让大家学好英语。主动帮助同学增长对英语的兴趣。也希望通过当英语课代表来锻炼、磨练自己，加强自身的学习能力。
