半年的共同学习，使我半喜半忧，喜的是，我们高一三班的学生都很聪明，接受能力强，学习起来显得很轻松，让我觉得忧虑的是：部分孩子对英语不太重视。（包括与个别家长的交流中，发现有家长也未重视）可能这里也包含许多家长觉得英语不太好辅导，你说语文数学吧，还懂点，这英语吧，还真是不好不懂装懂，所以导致相当一部分的孩子英语基础打得很不牢，个别的孩子甚至拼读、书写、背诵等学习英语的好习惯还没有很好的养成，需要从头开始。但是，孩子们上课时的专注同时也让我感到欣喜。认真的孩子一定能把英语学好！

我确信：英语要学好和智商无关，学不好英语的人都是懒惰的人。

新教材与初中的教材跨度很大，要求也上了几个台阶，对孩子们具有比较大的难度。细心的家长可能就会发现，高中的课本和初中的课本相比，无论是从词汇量，语法还是课文篇幅的长短都有了明显的区别，初中的内容相当简单，它简直就是三年级知识的巩固，稍微有所延伸，而高一一下子就接触并需要掌握两种时态。所以，有些同学很不能适应，初中学得轻松，还考好成绩，怎么到了高一不行了，这样的现象很普遍，说到底，还是好的习惯没有养成，不够勤奋。在这里，我要点名表扬几位学生，她们学习态度端正，上课认真，书写工整，正因为如此，无论什么考试都能取得很好的成绩。另外我还要提几个同学，他们的潜力很大，但因为还不够认真刻苦，所以没有发挥出自己最好的水平，希望家长能够配合老师，把孩子的成绩抓上去。我坚信：如果您的孩子在您的支持和我的指导下能够及时完成我布置的任务，那么一定能学好。要教导您的孩子一开始就要有吃苦耐劳的精神。坚持严谨的学习作风，成绩马上就会见效。

目前的形势决定了英语学科的重要性，请各位家长务必重视英语这一学科，你们思想上重视了，无形中也给孩子以熏陶，重视与不重视肯定是完全不同的，在英语课堂上，大部分学生都能很活跃的回答老师提出的问题，积极跟着老师拼读单词，朗读课文。其实这也制造了一种假象，学生认为自己常常被老师提问，认为自己能够回答老师的问题，于是认为自己的英语学得很不错，自我感觉特别好。于是下课后在英语上花的时间就少了。其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的`程度。况且每个学生对新知识得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉下差距。

那么在课后学生到底该怎么做才能把其余的60%补回来呢？英语毕竟不是我们自己的语言，大多数学生除了英语课其余时间根本就不会想到要说英语，所以，在课后一定要主动抽时间为自己补习英语。学好英语，不外乎就是在听，说，读，写这些方面下功夫。

首先说一下听，每个学生都有和书相配套的磁带，可是请各位家长检查一下自己的子女的英语磁带，有多少学生的磁带还是和刚发的时候一样的，根本就没有听过。不要说另外买什么英语听力磁带或者英语学习的碟片了，连自己手头的磁带都不去听，光靠上课听一点点的磁带，学生的听力根本就不能有什么发展。不会听就不能说，而说白了，学了英语就是要说，那不是白学了么？听录音机跟读，目的应该是两种，一种同学是上课没有完全消化，听录音是补充学习的过程，另外一种是提高自己的听力和口语表达能力，要学生尽力地去模仿录音机里的发音，从而使自己的听力和口语都提高一个层次。

接下来是说，英语是一门语言，学了就是要说，要和别人交流。我们学的英语不应该是哑巴英语，要让每个学生学会勇敢地说出来。在课上我会用各种方法来刺激学生，激发他们说英语的积极性，大多数学生也确实做得很好。可是班级里人多，对每个人来说，说的机会就少。所以下课也要说；放学回家也要说。在学校，我鼓励学生把所学的英语对话运用到生活中去，这样有更真实的情景，更能让学生有发挥的余地。在家里，希望家长也能鼓励学生说英语，也许你会说你自己也听不懂，请不要这样想，其实学生需要是你的鼓励，你听了他们说的只要简单表扬一句，他们就会很满足了。有时候你们也可以不懂装懂，或者还可以让学生反过来教你，他们会觉得很自豪，因为自己所学得派上了用场。

接下来是读。有句话：“读书破万卷，下笔如有神。”学英语也是这样，很多家长也明白，学英语要培养语感，也就是语言的感觉，如果有很好的语感，那么不管是说话，做题目，还是写文章，都很轻松，很简单了。那么语感怎么来呢？就是靠读出来的。一定要让学生养成每天读英语的习惯，这是学英语的最基本的学习习惯了。每天早上一定要读20分钟左右的英语，哪怕有时候时间来不及了，即使是迟到也要读，并且每天都坚持，绝不因任何原因间断。无论什么事情都贵在坚持嘛。如果你的子女还没有养成这样的学习习惯，请你一定要督促他，刚开始也许会比较难，时间久了，就会习惯成自然。就像早上起来要刷牙洗脸一样，要让他们把读英语当作每天必做的一件事。

最后是写。主要就是单词短语的默写，这是学英语的必经之路。单词往往背过就容易会忘记，所以要不断的背默写，不断的翻新，这是没有办法的。背单词的时候要边拼边写，嘴巴和手都要动起来，嘴上十遍不如手上一遍。家长在这里要作好检查督促的工作，不要用不懂英语来帮助你的孩子学会偷懒，你可以报中文，让你的孩子默写，然后对照书本批改订正，每天坚持的话，你一定会有意想不到的效果。还有句型，学生应该在课上领会句型的意思和运用方法。课后还需要通过多读课文，多练习才能巩固所学的句型。所以请各位家长不光要注重孩子背单词短语的情况，还要让他重视句子的重要性。

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.

65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.

He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 2002, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.

When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.

Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.

（一）沟通感情，勉励关怀

学生是学习的主体，要想使之发挥积极主动性，需走进他们的.内心，激发他们学习的热情。针对学生不同的情况，我鼓励他们发奋图强，力争三年后跨入自己理想的大学。高三补习班的学生，有的丧失了自信心，深感前途迷茫，有的则破罐破摔。通过我不断接触和仔细观察，综合各方面的信息，给予他们指导，力所能及地打动他们学习的欲望。“亲其师，信其道”，学生对学科、对老师的好恶等非智力因素对学生的学习有着很大的影响。渐渐地，很多学生开始喜欢我授课，无数次的心灵交流，使我们的情谊日渐深厚。

（二）因材施教，务实“双基”

从第一次的测试中，我发现大部分同学听、说、读、写的基本功很不扎实，需加强“双基”训练。同学们浏览新教材后，也感到他们即将面临一个新的“学习高源”。

备课中，我参考教参及一些“双基”教辅材料，结合所教学生实际，采用一些独特的做法。

1、变考前集中复习为课上天天复习

高中英语知识总量较之初中英语成倍增加，课时却相对较紧。我所教的学生中，中差生居多。如把复习集中在期中或期末考前进行，势必挤占平时教学课时，影响课文的透彻讲解。因此，我对教材中的每一个重要语言点都尽可能做到：以新带旧，深入浅出。课堂习题浓缩精选，先放低要求，待务实巩固后，再循序渐进，逐步拔高。这样就变课前集中复习为课上天天复习。

2、强化词汇、句型、语篇教学

在词汇教学方面，坚持分单元集中讲授，适度扩展，并要求学生熟练掌握构词规律。在课文教学方面，强调句型和语篇的有机联系，要求学生以句子为单位，有选择地背一些重要句型，这样既可减轻学生过重的学习负担，又可达到提高书面表达能力的效果。上阅读理解课时，经常围绕中心大意，常用句型和篇章结构等几个重要环节展开。精读、泛读相结合，对不同的阅读课文采用点拨、启发、提问、讲解、展开和深绎等教法。

上语法分析课时，我从不抠语法，而是把重点放在英语词汇的习惯用法、短语固定搭配、惯用句型和中英文表达方式的差异上，让学生充分掌握借助语法，提高实际运用英语的本领。

上书面表达课时，着重讲明常见体裁的写作要求和技巧。要求学生注意格式、词语的固定搭配、人称、数、时态及英语习惯用法，学会用适当的句型和学过的基本词汇来表达复杂的意思。

3、巧抓阅读，促进写作

到了高中阶段，在进一步提高听说能力的同时，要侧重培养学生的阅读理解能力。阅读既是一种能力，又是语言学习的一种重要方法。广泛阅读可以帮助学生理解和吸收书面信息，巩固记忆，有助于扩大词汇量，丰富语言知识。从某种意义上说，阅读能力的强弱直接关系到学生高考笔试成绩的高低。上好阅读课，对学生运用英语常用句型、写好英语短文大有裨益。因此，我常鼓励学生尽量根据上下文猜测词义，使之逐渐提高阅读速度，获得独立阅读的能力，更好地配合课堂教学，巩固教学成果。

（三）指点学法，重点突破

针对弱项，对症下药

每次大小测验之后，我总要将学生们的成绩进行分析，找出他们的弱项，以便在今后的教学中作为重点加以突破，为全面提高学生的应试能力奠定坚实的基础。通过平时的教学观察，我发现他们丢分多是因为语感不强，词汇量普遍较少，阅读理解能力不强。

短文改错主要是不注意语言现象。想要提高改能力，有赖于平时足量的练习和实践。短文改错设计灵活，压分度高，综合性强，学生往往辨认不出行文逻辑的错误。解题时遵循三部曲：首先通读全文，初选错误；然后二次阅读，攻克难关；最后重读全文，仔细核对。

回首这四届学生的高考，我所任教班级的学生英语成绩都名列前茅，但这已成为历史，这不是终点，而是一个全新的起点。漫漫教学路，执着、热爱自己的教学是真实的写照。未来我会不断创新，不断充实和完善自己的教育教学能力，不断取得良好的教育教学效果。教育教学工作是一种虽然辛苦但也充满快乐和享受的职业，笔者会继续努力，做一名受社会肯定、让学生尊敬和喜爱的优秀教师。

The reason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from books with pragmatics in their work. Students of this kind will be successful in every exam but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. Don’t you think it waste training such persons for the country?

To sum up from the above, I can say marks are not absolutely authoritative for some. If we neglect training and developing the students’ ability and competence and if we only seek for the high marks, we will be absolutely wrong. We should take an objective attitude towards the marks. Neither should we neglect them nor should we overvalue them like a God.

To sum up from the above, I can say marks are not absolutely authoritative for some. If we neglect training and developing the students ability and competence and if we only seek for the high marks, we will be absolutely wrong. We should take an objective attitude towards the marks. Coming from these sanctuaries, as you see here, they had moved into Cambodia and are encircling the capital.

Cambodia, as a result of this, has sent out a call to the United States, to a number of other nations, for assistance. Because if this enemy effort succeeds, Cambodia would become a vast enemy staging area and a springboard for attacks on South Vietnam along 600 miles of frontier: a refuge where enemy troops could return from combat without fear of retaliation. North Vietnamese men and supplies could then be poured into that country, jeopardizing not only the lives of our own men but the people of South Vietnam as well.

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.

that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.

in order to do that, it's time to have a fair tax structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close tax loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.
